Usage and Credits
Decoder uses a credit system for AI and other billable operations. Credits are consumed when you run Assistants, Automations, Knowledge Base processing, and certain integrations. Monitor usage in the footer and in the Usage Dashboard.
Credit Display
The footer (or header, depending on layout) shows Credit Remaining – how many credits are left in the current billing period. The display may show:
- Normal – Credits available; operations run normally
- Low – Credits running low; consider adding more soon
- Over-limit – Credits exhausted; some operations may be limited or blocked
Usage Dashboard
In Admin → Usage Dashboard you can:
- View usage as a chart or table
- Select time period – Monthly, yearly, or custom range
- Navigate between periods (previous/next)
- See usage by type – Breakdown by billing type
- Filter by date and other criteria
Use the dashboard to track consumption over time, identify spikes, and plan for credit renewals.
Billing Types
Credits are used for:
- Text Input/Output – AI text generation (Assistant conversations, Generate Text steps, etc.)
- Text Embedding – Knowledge Base processing (vectorization of documents)
- Web Scraping – Webpage scraping in automations and Knowledge Base
- Web Search – Search API calls (e.g., Search Internet, Search News actions)
Usage depends on your plan and how you use the platform. Heavy AI usage and large Knowledge Base syncs consume more credits.
Over-Limit
When credits run out:
- AI generation may be blocked or limited
- Some actions (e.g., web search, scraping) may fail
- You may see error messages asking you to add credits
What to do: Contact your administrator or plan provider to add credits or upgrade your plan.
