Knowledge

The Data Sources tab configures which Knowledge Base content this Assistant can use. It appears only when Enable Knowledge Base is turned on in the General tab.

Scope: collections and exclusions

The Assistant’s knowledge scope is everything you can see (All Company plus all collections you have view access to) minus what you exclude. There is no “included” list — by default the Assistant can use all visible content. You only exclude collections or individual items you don’t want in scope.

Data Sources tree

The tab shows a tree:

  • Top levelAll Company plus every collection you can view
  • Under each folder – The data source items (documents) in that folder

So you see the same structure as in the Knowledge Base (All Company + collections), with items underneath.

Exclude from Assistant

  • Exclude control on each row (collection or individual item)
  • Excluded rows are shown in a muted/greyed state
  • Saving stores only excluded collections and excluded items; everything else stays in scope
  • RAG and search – When the Assistant answers or when workflows search the Knowledge Base, only content that is in scope and not excluded is used

Configuring Data Sources

  1. In the General tab, enable Knowledge Base and set Max Knowledge Base Articles if desired
  2. Open the Data Sources tab
  3. Browse the tree (All Company + your visible collections and their items)
  4. Use Exclude on any collection or item to remove it from this Assistant’s scope
  5. Click Update to save

Tips

  • Use exclusions to keep sensitive or irrelevant content out of an Assistant’s context
  • Max Knowledge Base Articles (General tab) still caps how many documents are used per query
  • Scope is based on your visibility: you only see collections and items you can view
