Chrome Extension

The Chrome Extension lets you send content from any webpage to Decoder. Use it to quickly ask Assistants about page content or run Automations with data you’ve selected.

Installing

Install the Decoder Chrome Extension from the Chrome Web Store or your organization’s distribution channel. Pin the extension to your toolbar for quick access.

Sending to Assistants

  1. Select text or content on a webpage (e.g., a paragraph, table, or section)
  2. Open the extension popup (click the extension icon)
  3. Choose an Assistant from the dropdown
  4. Optionally edit the prompt (the selected content is included automatically)
  5. Click Send

Decoder opens (or switches to) a conversation with the selected content and your prompt. The Assistant uses the content as context to answer.

Tip: Be specific in your prompt. “Summarize this” or “What are the key points?” works well with selected text.

Sending to Automations

  1. Select content on a webpage that matches the automation’s expected input
  2. Open the extension popup
  3. Choose an Automation from the dropdown
  4. The extension validates that the selected content can be used as input
  5. If valid, click to run (or fill any remaining inputs)
  6. The automation runs; review results in Decoder

Note: Not all automations accept webpage content as input. The extension shows which automations are available and validates your selection.

Extension Interface

The popup typically has:

  • Assistant/Automation selector
  • Prompt or input area
  • Send or Run button
  • Possibly a preview of selected content

Troubleshooting

  • Extension not appearing – Check it’s installed and enabled; pin it to the toolbar
  • Send fails – Ensure you’re logged into Decoder; check that the selected content is valid
  • Wrong Assistant/Automation – Change the selection in the dropdown before sending
