Triggers Reference

Each trigger starts an automation when its event occurs. Triggers are organized by Manual (on-demand), Scheduled (time-based), Event-driven (real-time, e.g. Slack), or Polling (periodic check of an external system).

For each category below: what the trigger does, its inputs (configuration), and outputs (variables available to later steps).

Using trigger outputs in steps

After the trigger, use variables in later steps. For a single-item trigger (e.g. one new contact), reference fields like #trigger.email or #trigger.firstname. For triggers that return a list (e.g. multiple new emails), the workflow may run once per item or expose the list; use the variable picker in the step editor to see available trigger outputs.
